I just read that vitamin E supplements can increase your chance of lung cancer and extra folate can cause colon cancer what is the deal. I
usually never take centrum but sometimes i go in binges where ill take it for a month 3 times a week. I feel more energy but is it bad for me?

I definetly would say to take vitamins but specifically antioxidants. I was diagnosed with a cancer gene that leaves me vulnerable to a 82% chance of colon cancer by i am 30 yrs of age. My genetic councelor told me to take vitamins and what is in vitamins should be very helpful but to take them in a good moderation but they more so focused on me taking antioxidants which is in vitamins but not very much. Youre correct about the excess causing problems like vitamin E but that is why you would take it in moderation. If ANYTHING, you should be taking antioxidants to prevent cancer because it reduces the free radicals within your body (free radicals contributes to help produce cancer to begin with). So knowing that i am at risk, i take a green food multivitamin and an antioxidant vitamin every day which is what the doctors reccommended. Hope this helps you out!
