Product Description

A proven approach to beating disease and enjoying peak health written by one of the country's most dynamic health educators.

It's a fact seldom admitted by the medical establishment: chemotherapy and radiation are only about 6% effective in fighting cancer. Prompted by public outcry, research now validates a course of cancer prevention and treatment advocated by specialists in alternative medicine and practiced for centuries in Eastern cultures--nutritional therapy.

Verne Varona shows how to stop cancer in its tracks--and even reverse it--through diet. Backed by the testimony of prominent physicians and inspiring case histories, Varona explains what kind of nourishment works best to enhance immunity and restore vitality--without sacrificing enjoyment of food. Starting with the basics of smart eating and moving to specifics on the role of antioxidants, phytochemicals, herbs, vitamins, and more in preventing and conquering cancer, he outlines a complete, easy-to-follow program for freedom from a devastating disease--and improved odds of a long, healthy life.

Aimed to make dietary changes as painless as possible, this welcome resource also features a tantalizing collection of nutritious recipes, helpful shopping and cooking tips, and sensitive advice on eating in restaurants and at social gatherings.

Insightful, Inspiring & Entertaining!

I bought this book for a friend with cancer and after reading the preface and first chapter just couldn't put it down! Verne Varona writes with an amazing clarity, insight and entertaining style while demystifing all kinds of nutritional myths. His information about acid and alkaline is the best I've read anywhere and his sugar craving information has allowed me to challenge what was a formidable addiction. It seems like he's taken the best of numerous cultural medicines and combined them into a practical and refreshing melting pot approach. Best of all, after five weeks on this program I feel better than I have in 30 years! I have as much kitchen savvy as kangeroo, but his recipes are easy-to-follow and absolutely delicious. Whether you have cancer, concerned about cancer or just in search of good health, this highly motivating book is a must read for anyone wanting to improve or recover their health. That's my take!

Loaded with the latest Research and many years of practical experience, made this book such a beleivable read, a book I can reference and read over and over again, I specifically used a pink highlighter to zoom in on all the important points, which runs rampant without the whole book. If you are a person who wants valid, clear information on how to take care of yourself for the rest of your life whether you have cancer or not, this is the book for you, I healed my cancer fifteen years ago using these principles and there never outdated, like so many diet trends out there!! this is a keeper. Thank you for your hard work, in putting the book together. L.K.
Great Reference Book

Reviewer: S. Cotter,
I purchased this book after a friend passed away from caner (within days of finding out, he was gone). In speaking with some others and doing some internet research, I kept hearing about this book. It seems that our society is really working against us, as most things have caner causing properties in the contents. This book is an eye opener and I suggest it for those that would like to make some better food decisions and desire to have a greater awareness of what they can do for prevention.
EXCELLENT

This book is an excellent way to kick start your immune system in the fight against cancer.
You need to follow the special diets religiously. Your LIFE depends on it.
Forget about just beating cancer with Radiation therapy and Chemo. You need to attack cancer from all fronts. Learn as much as you can about YOUR specific type of cancer. Follow a diet like the ones laid out in this book (It's more of an eating lifestyle change), go to a Nutrition therapist if necessary.
There are also medical doctors who have studied alternative therapy and can provide anti-cancer injections.

My sister has stage 4 cancer which spread from her Esophagus to her back and thigh bones. We were devestated and used this book and a doctor who had studied alternative cancer therapy in Switzerland. Her cancer has stopped spreading at last.

VERY GOOD BOOK. VERY HELPFUL. EXCELLENT RESOURCE TO USE ALONG WITH YOUR CONVENTIONAL CANCER TREATMENT.

I found this is to be a wonderfully informative book. The author has been on a life long quest to unravel the mysteries of the causes of cancer (he lost his mother to cancer when he was a young boy) and the things we do unwittingly to encourage its existence. His goal is to educate. He has reverse engineered a healthy human body and observed what and why that body consumes. The answers are presented in a straight forward manner, with no preaching or scolding. The author is not selling any supplements or health food additives. He presents the information and gives the reader the choices necessary to make changes for the reader's health benefit.
