Pancreatic Cancer Stages
Do patients with Stage three pancreatic cancer need to get a port-a-cath inserted?
It really depends on the treatment he will receive. Radiation, no. Chemo or immunology yes.
I do 4 days of chemo every three weeks and I am defiantly glad I got a port-a-cath. They can use the port-a-cath to access blood for testing.
I highly suggest getting one installed. The operation is pretty simple and an overnight stay is normally not required.
